Are You Struggling with Sampling Errors or Quality Inspections that Depend Too Heavily on Individual Employees?

In this article, we take a closer look at the quality control in Beas Manufacturing, the production management add-on for SAP Business One. In Part 1 of this two-part series, we look at automated sampling inspections (spot checks) and the standardization of inspection rules.
Quality control is essential for maintaining consistent product quality and customer trust. However, manual sampling can lead to human errors such as miscounting. Inspection procedures and acceptance criteria may also depend on an individual’s experience, resulting in inconsistent judgements or missed defects.
Beas Manufacturing’s quality control features automatically calculate sampling quantities based on predefined rules and determines pass or fail results according to set criteria. Let’s take a closer look at how these functions work and the benefits they provide.

Feature Overview

Sampling

Predefined rules automatically determine the appropriate sample size.
This helps eliminate manual calculations and ensure consistent inspections.

QC指図

The GIF demonstrates automatic sample calculation: 2 samples are automatically calculated for a production quantity of 20 units based on the rule of 1 sample per 10 units.

QC Order

Predefined inspection criteria automatically determine whether measurement results pass or fail.
Inspection items and acceptable ranges can be defined for each stage, including incoming inspection, in-process inspection, and finished product inspection. For measurement-based inspections, where results are evaluated using numerical values, the pass or fail result can be determined as soon as the measurement is entered on site.
This enables accurate and consistent inspections without relying on the individual experience or judgement of each inspector.

品質管理

The GIF demonstrates automatic pass/fail determination: Sample 1 passes at 55 dB, while Sample 2 fails at 63 dB against the 50–60 dB tolerance range.

Benefits of Beas Manufacturing Quality Control

The quality prevention framework provided by Beas Manufacturing reduces reliance on individual employees and brings three key benefits to manufacturers:

  1. Eliminate reliance on individual judgment and enable anyone to perform quality checks with consistent quality
  2. Removes the need for manual calculations, helping maintain reliable sampling quality
  3. Links automatically with business processes, establishing a consistent and reliable quality management system

Automated Quality Inspections for a More Reliable Manufacturing Environment

By standardizing inspection rules and automating sampling, this integrated approach provides a solid foundation for preventing human errors from being overlooked and maintaining consistent product quality.
