The word BPR came into use in 90's. BPR aims at [Business Process Reforms]
but the result was not universally acceptable. It cannot be said that it
succeeded as it was merely restricted to simplification of business and
was an excuse for reducing the staff.
Further, at the time of implementation of ERP system, BPR shelves the operations
which do not match with [Best practice] and accumulates the addon development
work and it seemed to have fallen short of expectations.
Later, [BPM] concept in combination with business process oriented system
components came into existence.
Is it necessary to go for BPM with huge costs?
At present, transnational movement of people, things and money may boost
further.
Now, I think there is a necessity to implement BPR to reform business process
at global level.

Company C is the machinery supplier, with its Headquarters in Japan, is
expanding its business globally.
Client's needs
Client wants to standardize the overseas business process globally and
build a strong internal control system.
Implementation process
Each company is handling the business using the individual local package
softwares.
This way, each company is having different business processes. It becomes
difficult to build an internal control system.
Further, since the coding system is also different from company to company,
it is difficult to build global information system too.
In addition to it, the data handling between the headquaters and overseas
overseasis done manually, it proves highly ineffective.
Implementation details
overseasbusiness flow was built on discussing the required business processes
while taking the maximum overseas corporate.
At the same time, global coding system was formulated and it was made in
such a way that

In addition to it, we have studied the supply chain between overseas corporate
and headquarters.
As a result, if the purchase order is issued from the subsidiary, it was
taken as sales order by headquarters and the shipment scheduled date is
returned to the overseas subsidiary.
Based on this shipment scheduled date, the overseassubsidiary responds
to the client with the delivery date.
When the shipment information is transmitted to the overseas subsidiary,
the subsidiary receives it and processes it as the stock in transit.
When the stock arrives on site, stock transfer takes place automatically
to the actual warehouse of the overseas subsidiary.
SAP Business One was developed by C company in 9 overseas subsidiaries
on the basis of this global supply chain.
